We were honored to join WGN Morning News to talk about something we’re very passionate about: helping lost dogs find their way home.

One of the most important things we shared is that the dog you know at home may not be the dog you see when they’re lost. Even a normally friendly dog can become frightened and go into survival mode.

That’s why knowing how to respond when you see a loose dog can make all the difference.

• Don’t chase.
• Don’t create a crowd around the dog.
• Give frightened dogs the space and time they need.

After more than 15 years of helping reunite lost dogs with their families, we know that well-meaning efforts can sometimes unintentionally push a scared dog farther away. Education and a strategic approach are critical.
